On this very special day when the world celebrates gal pals, I'm taking you behind the scenes into our studio so you can see some of the wonderful women who make our jewellery come to life. While the design process always starts at my wax bench, you may not know that there are many other hands that put so much care, attention and love into each piece as it travels through our studio along its journey to you.
For the first several years, it was just me making a piece from start to finish. As we have grown, I've been able to welcome the most wonderful and talented team of women in to specialise on every other part of the process.
The design journey starts in my wax studio, where I sculpt a new piece before it moves into the hands of our all-Bermudian, all-women studio team.
Our Master Metalsmith Hannah then "takes the torch" and manages the moulding, casting, hallmarking, polishing and assembly of each piece upstairs in our metalsmithing studio. Meanwhile, the collection details are forecasted and meticulously tracked by our Production Manager, Tori, to make sure we stay on our game, and sometimes even ahead of the curve!
Gemma is an integral part of our studio team. She offers her opinion on just about every step of the process as she makes her daily rounds. We found Gemma as a tiny kitten outside of our Park Road studio about 5 years ago, and ever since that day she has grown up surrounded by tools and jewels. She reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously, by walking through important meetings, knocking fragile things off shelves, chewing on official papers, and generally being a cuddle muffin right when you need to get up. She loves to watch Hamilton come alive on a Friday night from our store's front door, and she also is known to perform tricks for passers-by!
Once polished to perfection upstairs, many pieces go into the Sandbox to be inlaid with gorgeous pink Bermuda sand. TeAnn has been with us on and off for 4 years as she put herself through culinary college and started her own catering and podcast business, @real_withcheftee. I admire the beautiful compositions within each piece she inlays with sand.
Thanks to Abigail and our team of Sand Fairies, my original technique of inlaying sand has evolved to a whole new level of perfection. I'm thrilled with how our techniques have progressed with such talented artisans on our team! Abigail is also such a fierce logistical organiser. Give that lady a project and watch out world!
Our Retail Brand Ambassador Team is absolutely amazing. They focus on making sure you have a wonderful time in our store and that you find the piece that makes your heart sing. Our team strives to take care of you whenever and wherever you are and as such, our Flagship Store is open seven days a week, and we are always hopping onto email, Facebook and Instagram to connect with you. I couldn't do it without the help of our bubbly and conscientious Brand Ambassadors Johari, Megan, Rachael and Natalie.
I can hardly contain my gushing for our phenomenal customers like Danielle! We were so excited to "Nab" her the other day when she was passing by the store. She is truly an evangelist for our brand, and she told me she loves dropping in to see what we've all been working on. I adore how she styles my collection into her everyday look, which you can check out at @thenabapp.

Does your jewelry contain authentic pink Bermuda sand? How can I get a catalog of your pieces and does it contain actual sizes? We are celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary this year. We did not get went to Bermuda for our honeymoon and 10th Anniversary and stayed at the Bermudaian Hotel in Hamilton. I thought I heard it’s not there anymore. Thank you.
